The Most Common Causes of Accidents?

We thought in this article we'd outline some of the most common causes of accidents on the roads today, if you're guilty of any of these perhaps you'd like to think again.

Eating While Driving - We're all busy but this can be incredibly dangerous, not only is your attention split between that Ginsters Pasty wrapper and the road but you can miss some vital information on the roads. Combined with the fact that there's possibility of you choking we wouldn't recommend this.

Talking on your Mobile - As this is now illegal there's really no excuse, especially if you drive a manual car. How many times have you had a near miss with someone because they've got their phone stuck to their ear and they're trying to operate the gearstick and steering with one hand?

Tiredness - This is one of the most common causes of accidents, the recommended amount of sleep for the average person is 8 hours. Some people think that driving while tired is not serious, well it is. On motorway driving it can be all too easy to fall asleep at the wheel because you have very little concentrating to do, keep your blowers on cold and the music loud to keep you alert if you have to drive while tired.

Drink Driving - This has become much more socially unacceptable over the past 10 years but lots of people still do it unknowingly. How many pints do you drink on Saturday night and then get up for football on Sunday? Many people don't realise they are still over the limit the next morning, think about it, can you afford to lose your license?
