Young driver car insurers such as 4youngdrivers.com stress that young drivers on the whole are sensible drivers and car insurers, who think of other like-minded young driver car insurers when they're out on the road in their licensed and insured young driver cars. However, as young driver car insurers they remain aware of the constant risk posed by these non-licensed and more often than not, young driver car non-insurers, and would report any such examples these 4youngdrivers.com young driver car insurers bear witness to. One of 4youngdrivers.com's journalists takes up the young driver's car insurance-interest news piece for us.
Brake Road Safety Academy has teamed up with the FedEx Group to conduct a survey on the amount of people who have been passengers in the cars of young, uninsured drivers. Targeting the 16 - 19 age groups, the startling results discovered (Over one third admitted to having been passengers in such vehicles) must surely serve as a wake up call to both young people and their parents, the joint study concludes. Department of Transport estimates lend weight to the heightened concerns amongst motoring safety organisations, whose own figures suggest that in particular - and some 11.6 times more likely to be involved in a crash - are unlicensed male motorists falling into the 17 - 29 demographic.
Dating back to 2003, the DfT research also highlights that licensed drivers in the same age bracket, were 3.9 times less likely to be involved in an accident. More recent figures from 2005 provided critical evidence that almost 800 under-25's were killed in car and motorbike crashes that year alone.
Between them, the FedEx Group and Brake Road Safety Academy trains volunteers - many of whom themselves have been injured in or in some cases, bereaved, by road crashes - as well as community workers and FedEx employees - on the best teaching practice necessitated in reaching out, and ultimately spreading the word to young people regarding the potential dangers that unlicensed drivers pose to themselves and other road users. Alongside of identifying the harm caused by speeding, drink and drug driving, themselves on the increase amongst this specific audience. They took their message that unsafe driving can kill, to schools, colleges and young offender's institutions throughout the UK , where they handed out over 700 questionnaires.
Mary Williams is the Chief Executive of the charity Brake, and this is exactly what she had to say on the publishing of such facts; "Unlicensed young drivers make a conscious decision to drive without the necessary qualification, and often with their cars packed full of young passengers. They risk not only their own lives, but the lives of their passengers and other road users, and there is an urgent need to crack down on this wide-spread lawbreaking that costs lives through more education and tougher enforcement." When approached for its response, the DfT said that a "combination of measures" were in place to address what it sees as a major issue; and went on to applaud the considerable efforts already being made by the Driver Standards Agency, whose recent initiative which incorporated school-led campaigns were making great strides. Aswell as acknowledging the work being carried out by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, in as much as their further development of it's ground-breaking database, and introduction of additional number plate recognition cameras.
4youngdrivers.com would like to point out that effectively someone who has not passed their driving test would also be uninsured. Therefore young driver's car insurer 4youngdrivers.com would like to take this opportunity to strongly condemn such young drivers and their selfish actions. For the majority of the rest of you young driver car insurers - remember that 4youngdrivers.com means conscientious young driver car insurance for the lawful.
